So the inevitable has happened. The Taoiseach has resigned, and the immense pressure caused by all the alleged financial irregularaties have taken its toll. He'll be remembered for the Northern Ireland Peace Process, and his part in that, also his premiership during the biggest fiancial boom years Ireland has ever seen, the Celtic Tiger Years. But 11 years and he's almost gone, a new leader soon to be elected. It has to be Brian Cowen, the Offalyman, whose nickname of 'Bully' gives you an idea of his style of politics. If he does become the next Taoiseach, expect a totally different style of leadership, more akin to the Haughey era.
